Chief Statement

I would like to thank you for visiting our website. My name is Joey Vest and I am the Chief at The Walton Fire Protection District. Here at Walton we pride ourselves on having a close community.  The fire department is composed of men and women dedicated to serving our community.  We provide the best possible fire and EMS service.  The community that we serve has shown great appreciation for our department.  We welcome the opportunity to be part of our community activities.  We currently participate in several activities such as Old Fashion Day, Christmas Parade and many other activities.
In the past few years we have gone through some tremendous changes.  We have increased our staff, began providing Advanced Life Support with a paramedic program, and purchased new equipment for our members to just name a few things.  The growth of our community in residential, commercial, and industrial areas requires the growth in our department.  Located in southern Boone county, we recognize it is currently one of the fastest growing counties in Kentucky. There is still many great changes to come.
The Walton Fire Protection District is responsible for fire suppression, fire prevention, fire education, and emergency medical services.  We have several members that are trained in special fields such as hazardous materials, swift water rescue, SARs, technical rescue, fire investigation, level 1 & 2 fire instructors, and instructors in various area of the emergency medical service field.  The Walton Fire Protection Explorer Post is also a part of our family.  We train and work with young adults in becoming our future firefighters.
We always welcome anyone over 18 to apply to our department as a volunteer member.  Also, anyone between 14 and 18 can apply to join our explorer post.  Anyone interested in fire prevention, fire education, CPR, and/or First Aid Class can contact us.  Fire department tours and car seat inspections are provided to our community by appointment.

Thank you,
Chief Joey Vest
